Justin's Recent Journal Update

This week, most likely by Wednesday, Justin is going to be moved down to Rehab. I only know the floor he will be on, but as soon as I get a room number I'll let you know...he is going to be enrolled into a few programs to try and help him recover any functions he has lost. The first thing they have done, and have already started is some OT with Justin. A Therapist comes in and does Range Motion with him, meaning they move him to keep his joints from stiffening up. Soon Justin will be going into a program using the Glascow Coma Scale...they are going to be to be determining just how much Justin can do for them. When he is moved he is to have a limited amount of visitors...basically Justin will be wiped out most of the time due to them pushing him to recover. Please, if you want to visit, just call the nurses station and check with them on when the best time to visit is...Justin still needs visitors because familiar things he likes and knows will be a part of his therapy. They also ask us, which everyone who has been in to visit Justin is already doing this...but they are asking everyone talk to Justin like they would have done before his injury. Justin answered 'Yes' with two blinks twice tonight, almost back to back...I asked him a question, then his nurse asked a question...he blinked a true two times, each time....I was quite excited! Finally nurses and staff are seeing him respond instead of just me...lol Have a good night. ~Rose

I have been diagnosed with a rare diabetes that strikes young people without notice... most time killing them cause it can be misdiagnosed as the flu...which mine was...through the quick thinking of my mom...I was taken to the right people in time and am still alive today...I will have this all my life but everything looks like I will have a life...
Its gonna be a long recovery....but I am improving every day...my mom is hear and she will help me answer any email you would like to send until I am able to do it on my own..it would be great to here from you all....
